The Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA)is an umbrella organization of agencies, groups, and individuals that provide services to the South Asian Community.
MANDATE:
CASSA is an umbrella organization that supports and advocates on behalf of existing as well as emerging South Asian agencies, groups, and communities in order to address their diverse and dynamic needs. CASSA’s goal is to empower the South Asian Community. CASSA is committed to the elimination of all forms of discrimination from Canadian society.

OBJECTIVES:

Information/Education:
* To provide information to government and policy-making organizations regarding South Asian communities
* To be a point of reference for community organizations and agencies addressing the needs and issues of South Asians
* To provide a web-based information network and technical support and training for member agencies, groups and others
* To provide community education, training, and development support to member agencies

Planning:
* To function as a social planning body by researching, identifying and analysing the needs of the South Asian communities, and by affecting social change
* To build community capacity in order to enable South Asians to participate fully in Canadian society
* To utilize an alternative framework for undertaking social planning

Advocacy:
* To advocate to all levels of government on issues that concern the South Asian communities
* To promote civic engagement and community activism
* To empower South Asian communities to eliminate all forms of hate-crime, racism, and discrimination from Canadian Society!
