Core Accountabilities

  • Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, transmission flushes, air conditioner re-charges, front-end alignments, battery installations, headlight/taillight installations and more.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair.
  • Conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customers’ problems and provide accurate repair recommendations.
  • Inspect vehicles according to the state’s requirements for safety.
  • Conduct necessary repairs and take vehicles for test drives to verify soundness.
  • Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records.
  • Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety
  • Diagnose the vehicle issues as per the customer’s complaints, your own inspection and repair the issue(s).
  • Test to check whether systems and components are secure and are working properly.
  • Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the issue.
  • Drive the vehicle for testing purposes, or use various equipment, including hand-held and onboard compression gauges, or diagnostic computers (this also includes road testing recently delivered vehicles).
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specifications.
  • Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • Perform other tasks based on management requirements and instructions.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of direct work experience in automotive repairs and services
  • Automotive Service Technician License.
  • Ability to weld is not essential but preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of different vehicles and their service needs.
  • Functional knowledge of performance parts and other such as lift kits, coil overs, clutch, engine swaps etc.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence and clear driver’s abstract.
  • Knowledge and use of power, machine and hand tools.
  • Preferably should have their own tools and tool box.
  • Ability to effectively communicate automotive issues clearly.
  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
  • Aptitude in using various machinery (hoist, tire, scan tools etc.)
  • Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Good physical strength and stamina.
