What you will do:

• Be the advocate and driver to shift the company culture and constantly stress the importance of occupational health and safety to employees and management
• Develop health and safety procedures for all functions of the company
• Develop, implement, and evaluate inspection policies and procedures, and establish internal inspection schedules
• Prepare and schedule training to cover emergency procedures, worksite safety, and other relevant topics, and document training materials for employee reference
• Monitor compliance with safety procedures and provide leadership to employees and management on health and safety strategy
• Inspect the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks, draft inspection reports to document inspection findings
• Ensure the firm’s regulatory and legal compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Responsible for maintaining and receiving required industry certifications
• Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed
• Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required
• Performs other related duties as assigned

 
What You Will Need:
Industry and Education:

• Manufacturing or Machinery industry experience is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Safety or a related field is required

Knowledge and Skill:

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in health, safety and environment management in a manufacturing setting is required.
• Concrete Knowledge of occupational health and safety management standards, such as OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 COR.
• Proven ability to implement occupational health and safety policies and environmental safety management systems.
• Knowledge of relevant health, safety and environmental technical standards and industry certification process.
• Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies
• Strong ability in data collection and policy analysis, practical experience in accident investigation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools and Project Management experience is a plus.
• Proficient in technology and equipment used in safety inspections, and techniques for conducting audits
• Excellent interpersonal skills and can manage expectations of participants at different levels
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
