About the Opportunity:
TorontoJobs.ca’s Recruiting Division is working on an exciting opportunity for a skilled Senior Design Specialist. Our client specializes in designing and manufacturing equipment used in various industrial applications across North America.
Role Overview:
This role is ideal for an experienced design professional with a background in custom equipment development. The successful candidate will contribute to creating tailored solutions, collaborating with project teams, and providing technical support during all project phases.
Job Requirements:
Responsibilities:
Develop designs based on client specifications and ensure project requirements are met.
Create, review, and approve detailed design, shop, and production drawings using CAD software.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers and technical staff, to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
Perform structural calculations and analysis to validate designs.
Provide technical input during the proposal and estimation phases.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
10+ years of experience in custom equipment design, such as construction machinery or bulk material handling systems.
Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD 2D, and MS Office.
Strong understanding of welding symbols, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
Familiarity with structural calculations and codes (e.g., ANSI/AISC 360, CSA-16).
Ability to integrate mechanical, electro-mechanical, and hydraulic systems is an asset.
Authorization to work in Canada and ability to travel throughout North America.
