Our TorontoJobs.ca Recruiting Division is working with an established and innovative manufacturer of specialized lifting equipment on their search for a Structural Engineer (P.Eng) to join their growing team. With operations spanning North America, this company designs and builds custom-engineered solutions for construction, industrial, and infrastructure applications.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the structural engineering process from concept design through to production-level drawings.
  • Perform structural calculations, including static analysis, connection details, and manufacturability considerations.
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic teams to ensure seamless integration of designs.
  • Verify structural adequacy, review shop drawings, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Support project managers by aligning designs with project goals and budgets.
  • Provide technical guidance during proposal and estimation phases to optimize product design and cost efficiency.
  • Mentor junior engineers, technologists, and student interns while supporting field installation teams.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of structural engineering experience, preferably in custom engineering or industrial machine design.
  • P.Eng designation (Ontario) is required.
  • Strong background in structural aluminum and steel design; experience with concrete structures is a plus.
  • Expertise in ANSI/AISC A360, CSA S16, CSA S157, and welding codes (AWS D1.1/D1.2, CSA W47/59).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, structural engineering software (STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D), and MS Office.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to optimize structures for weight, strength, and specifications.
  • Ability to perform hand calculations and use tools like Mathcad and Excel.
  • Prior experience in construction, manufacturing, or large infrastructure projects is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
