A premier medical practice located in the heart of Mississauga is looking for a dedicated Medical Clinical Assistant to join their healthcare team. The Medical Clinical Assistant will play a crucial role in providing administrative and clinical support to ensure the smooth operation of our medical facility.
Responsibilities:
– Assisting physicians in the assessment of patients
– Follow through patient treatment plans as per instruction of patients
– Document patient rehabilitation progress where needed
– Collection of patient statistics and medical information as per physician’s requirements
– Collaborate with members of the clinic’s interdisciplinary health team
– Manage clinic staff and assign duties in respect of patient care Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
– Assist health care professionals
– Assist physicians in the assessment of patients
– Develop information materials for patients
– Follow through on treatment programs with patients
– Maintain prescription records
– Lay out surgical instruments
– Collect statistics
– Maintain supplies
– Document patient rehabilitation progress
– Perform general clerical duties
– Schedule and confirm appointments
– Take patients’ general medical and ophthalmic history
– Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone and booking appointments
– Order supplies and equipment
– Organize and maintain inventory
– Coordinate patient care
– Collect blood, tissue or other samples from patients
– Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health
– Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team
– Manage staff and assign duties
– Co-ordinate or manage primary patient care
– Help patients develop healthy habits, break old habits and reshape their approach to wellness
– Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals
– Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues
– Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems
Skills:
– Proficiency in medical terminology
– Competence in handling electronic medical records in a hospital / clinic setting
– Computer literate in handling Microsoft tools
– Able to supervise clinical staff of 5-7 people
– Able to work under pressure and high patient turnover.
